Hassett Subaru joins pet lovers across Long Island to “Unleash the Love”, and honor local animal rescue groups.

April 27th, 2018

Every Spring, animal-rescue advocates, gather to raise a toast, and their voices, in recognition of the selfless, year-round efforts of non-profit rescue organizations, and animal shelters who provide care, hope, and forever homes to the abandoned, abused, and helpless creatures of Long Island— desperate animals who crave only a small morsel of TLC from loving, local families.

On April 27th, the annual “Unleash the Love” charitable event was celebrated at the Crest Hollow Country Club, and, as usual, the emotional response produced some smiles, a few tears, and more important, plenty of generosity, and support, for the volunteers whose tireless efforts are making a difference in the lives of rescued animals… and the pet-lovers who choose to open their hearts, and share their homes. Of course, the team from Hassett Subaru was on hand to “share the love”, in support of their charitable partner… Pet Peeves— “the voice of L.I. Pets,” and a long-time, non-profit, umbrella organization that raises funds, and awareness, for Long Island’s struggling animal shelters and rescue groups. On behalf of Hassett, Sales Manager, Matt Fusco graciously presented a very large check to the organization in the amount of $40,177— the largest donation in more than three years!

General Manager Marc Zergebel, addressed attendees— sharing the dealership’s appreciation, and respect, for the exceptional work of Pet Peeves, their volunteers, and the dedication of founder Janine Dion. He succinctly summed up the mission of Subaru’s “Love Promise”, and how Hassett applies that charitable mission throughout the year. “Like Subaru, we believe in making the world a better place. Our support of Pet Peeves, and all of our charities, is our way of showing love and respect to our customers, as we strive to make a positive impact in the world. Hassett is not just about selling cars, but how we can give back to the community we serve… in meaningful ways.” In addition to the Zergebel family, and Mr. Fusco, the Hassett Subaru team was represented by Service Director Bob Spalletta, and Tricia Reisig, Subaru District Sales Manager.
Each year, Hassett Subaru generously supports a number of charitable causes that benefit from our “Share the Love” Event that runs from November 19th to January 2nd. On behalf of Pet Peeves, and the needy animals they continue to save and protect, Hassett extends a personal “thank you” to the loyal customers who’ve made Hassett Subaru their dealership of choice. For every car that was sold during the “Share-the-Love” Event, $300 was donated directly to one of five charities. That impact continually resounds… throughout the community and beyond. There’s no better way to lend a helping hand… than by treating yourself to the best ride ever… in a fabulous, new Subaru. What’s not to love about that?
